I love looking at myself in fotos

OK. so the last installment of the Peruvian adventure (the very slow peruvian adventure per certain readers) left the 2 travellers sipping tea and eating the hollow bread (see below). Post breakfast our friendly hostel employee brought us to the train station to buy tickets to machu picchu. turns out the train there was sold out until september. hmmm.......almost cause for panic as we were leaving the country in august and you can only get to the ruins via this train. Luckily, there were still tickets availabe on the bus that drives you halfway there, where you then get off, go to the train station, and hop on a random train. while much more complicated, we were going to get there, so we started roaming around cuzco. it happened to be aug 15 which is a catholic holy day (can't remember the exact one, sorry mom) so there were some processions around too.

Adam made two new friends: small peruvian boy and inca kola. inca kola is very yellow.

Later that night we decided to treat ourselves to a fine Peruvian meal, now that we had money again. Adam decided he wanted to try cuy, which is guinea pig. He did not seem bothered by the fact that my pet guinea pigs Mimi and Squeaky are held close to my heart and are even buried in the back yard. Well, mimi and squeaky got there say for as adam sat licking his fingers, the table started moving, the glasses starting jingling, and oops, huge earthquake. luckily for us, cuzco only did a lil swaying and there was no damage.

we spent the next day strolling again. it was nice to not have to wake up at 4AM. we ate more. we got free shots of pisco, the peruvian liquor with egg whites on top. adam ate the poor alpaca. with boisenberry sauce. i ate fish. and french fries. in front of an original incan wall.

after dinner we took some night fotos in cuzco. adam takes blurry fotos. i take clear ones.

the next morning we began our bus-train trip to aguas calientes, at the base of machu piccu.

i'm going to bed. to be continued.
